What Top5 is
Top5 (top5.global) is a site of collaborative rankings: each person makes their Top 5 of a topic, and from that we calculate the ranking of each country and of the world. It's free.
By using Top5 you accept these terms and the privacy policy, which explains what we do with your data.
For any question, write to hola@top5.global. Anything about your data, to privacy@top5.global.
Your account
- You must be at least 16.
- One account per person, with an email address that's yours. What's done with your account is your responsibility: don't share your sign-in codes.
- Without an invitation, your account goes on the waitlist and your Top 5 doesn't count yet.
- You choose your nationality. It's public, and so are its changes.
The rules
Top5 is only as good as its votes. That's why you can't:
- vote with more than one account, with bots or with programs that vote on their own;
- buy, sell or rig votes, or team up to push an option up or down;
- sell invitations;
- post anything illegal, hate speech, harassment, spam or someone else's personal data;
- attack the site or use its API beyond the limits.
In the comments, treat others the way you'd like to be treated.
What you post
What you write on Top5 (your Top 5s, options, topics and comments) is still yours.
You give us permission, free of charge and worldwide, to show it, translate it, merge it with other options that are the same thing, and use it in the rankings and in each country's names, while it's published. If you delete it, or delete your account, the rankings are recalculated without it.
Moderation
To protect the rankings we can delete what doesn't follow these rules, rename or merge options and topics, void votes and close accounts.
Whoever invites someone answers for them: if an account cheats, we may also review the accounts it invited.
If you think we got it wrong, write to hola@top5.global and we'll look into it.
Other people's data
Options are linked to Wikidata (free to use, CC0) and show summaries from Wikipedia (CC BY-SA), with a link to the article. The country of each visit comes from the DB-IP database (db-ip.com, CC BY 4.0).
The rankings show what people vote. They are not Top5's opinion.
No guarantees
We do our best to keep Top5 working well, but it's offered as is: it may have errors, change or be unavailable for a while. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for any damage this may cause.
Leaving
You can delete your account whenever you want from your profile.
If we ever shut Top5 down, we'll announce it well in advance and you'll be able to download your data first.
Changes to these terms
Every change has a date and a version number, and at the very bottom you'll find what changed in each section. If a change is important, we'll let you know on the site before it takes effect.
This page is available in several languages. If a translation says something different, the Spanish version prevails.
